St Chad’s Water Local Nature Reserve
Is closed until further notice due to the flooding and recent storms
We need to ensure that the site is safe to the public, once the floods have gone, we will inspect the paths and trees and when we are sure that there is no danger to the public, we will re-open the site. Please understand that this is to protect the public. The gate will re-open when are happy its safe to do so.
– your thoughts please
The Council hope to obtain a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to make improvements to St Chad’s Water LNR. We need to understand the current use of the site, how it is used and by whom – we also want YOUR ideas for features and activities that could form part of the funding bid. Please complete the very short survey by clicking on this link St Chad’s Survey we need as many people to respond (not just Draycott and Church Wilne residents) The survey is open from 24 January to 28 February 2020
We will publish the results once collated on the website
New Water bottle refill station at Draycott Playing Fields – Draycott joins the refill revolution
Draycott Millennium Green Trust have installed a Water Bottle Refill Station at the Football Pavilion on Gertrude Road, Draycott, starting to lead the way in Erewash in getting people to use reusable water bottles to reduce waste and litter.
Grants from Erewash Borough Council, The Drinking Fountain Association, the Rotary Club of Church Wilne and Draycott and Church Wilne Parish Council have enabled the purchase of the fountain and signage.
As well as bringing a free hydration point to this bustling playing field, we are working with local businesses to ask them to sign up to the refill revolution – this enables people to use an app to find local businesses that will provide free tap water to passers by.
To find out more about the refill app go to https://refill.org.uk/get-the-refill-app/
Val Clare, Chairman of DMGT said “I am delighted that the Parish Council have been able to facilitate the installation of what I am sure will be a very popular edition to Draycott”.
