Reports from outside bodies
Police – PC Suiter reported that there had been 10 crimes since the last meeting. It was noted that a resident had asked for speed checks on Station Road – which PCSO Pykett was pursuing. It was also reported that a dead sheep had been found at St Chad’s Water LNR. The Police were aware and the bailiffs are to arrange removal.
Cllr Parkinson reported on DCC matters. It was noted that the DCC are currently dealing with concerns raised by residents about Market Street, Derby Road and outside the school.
Cllr V Clare and D Orchard reported on EBC matters.
Cllr J Clare reported on his and other Cllrs attendance at the Planning Roadshow event.
Cllrs V and J Clare reported on their attendance at the County and Parish Councils Forum – it was agreed that the Clerk should write to DCC raising concerns about the poor sound system used at the meeting.
Cllrs B Rogerson and L Blackburn reported on their attendance at a Scout Executive meeting.

a)EBC- Concurrent Functions funding – RESOLVED to note that EBC had confirmed that the Parish Council would receive funding of £43,506 for 2012/13 – a shortfall of £2290.
b)Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations – RESOLVED that a budget of £3398 should be approved for the celebrations (£500 – 2011/12, £2898 – 2012/13) to be used as follows; Small Grants – £1300, Band concert £200, Mugs £570, Seat £1328.
c)First Grade Coaching – RESOLVED that First Grade Coaching should apply for funding on behalf of the PC for play schemes in the village.

Planning Application – ERE/1111/0019 – Land south of the Pines, Sawley Road – RESOLVED that Parish Council objects to the application as it considers the extension to the building to be an inappropriate development in the green belt and that there are no very special circumstances that have been put forward by the applicant to justify this inappropriate form of development.
